An initiative started by the Government of Gujarat in 2006, Kutch Rann Utsav showcases the beautiful culture of the state in the best way possible. Rann Utsav Festival is an annual event which takes place amidst the silvery landscapes of Rann of Kutch  – India’s largest salt marsh. The Great Rann Of Kutch  is known as one of the largest salt deserts in the world and its scenic beauty remains unparalleled anywhere across the world. Every year, this desert made up of small shrub forests, barren expanses of cracked earth and scattered oases of water bodies lights up for the Rann Mahotsav.

Initially, the festival of Kutch Rann began as a three-day affair but gained massive popularity year-on-year. The festival is now spread over 100 days and the main Rann Utsav locations include the city of Bhuj and the small village of Dhordo. Host to more than 8000 tourists from across the globe every year,  the Rann Utsav Festival began on 26th October 2022 and will go on until 20th February 2023. During these four months, Rann Utsav, also known as the White Desert Festival sees a vibrant transformation with cultural programs, music performances, competitions, bustling bazaars and more.
