The curtain rises again for theatre enthusiasts at The Lalit Ashok’s Theater Konnection. The Grand Ball Room of the hotel is all set to witness the unique connection of Theatre and food. The hotel will stage Theater Konnection, a concept scripted on the lines of Supper Theatre in Bangalore on Saturday, 8th June 2013.
Known for its unmatchable entertainment and sumptuous spread, this chapter of Theater Konnection will stage the play “Photocopy Love”, performed by Dramanon troupe perfectly blended with gastronomic craft of master chef Subodh Goyal.
Photocopy Love will be a set of three plays casting Sharanya Ramprakash, Tavish Bhatacharyya, Swetanshu Bora and Nidhi Pant. The plays attempt to explore and reflect our everyday interactions in a new light. They lend a new dimension to a discussion, a new perspective to a conversation, a new angle to an argument, all woven in interplay of laughter, melancholy, and absurdity, for 70 minutes with an interval of 15 minutes.
Along with the play staged by Dramanon, theatre lovers and food aficionados can experience the gourmet graze with a lavish spread of master chef Subodh Goyal. The vast spread includes: Smoked Salmon Quiche with Basil, Murgh Scarmoza Tikka with Mint Chutney, Tartlet of Crab Meat with Capsicum, Chinese Fried Shrimp Wonton, Thai Sweet Dip, Vietnam Rice Pepper Rolls in the starters. The main course will have Lettuce Rolls Station with choice of delicatessen, Parde Ki Subz Biryani, Dal Baluchi, Dim Sum along with Canape Station and action stations for Veggis, followed by an assortment of deserts.

Interview with Chef Mayank Istwal, Junior Sous chef at The LaLiT Udaipur.
What do you do at the Lalit?
I am the Junior Sous chef at The Lalit Udaipur. My job entails cooking for special guests and VIPs. I have been working here for past 6 months now. Before, I was working as a chef in Sydney.
What do you like most about your job?
I have always been passionate about cooking. My father had a catering business when I was growing up. I saw different chefs working in kitchen and was interested in that side of the business. When I was studying in Guwahati, I won a chef competition. I like that people appreciate my cooking and it is my favourite thing also. Guest interaction is one of the best part of the job too. Getting good feedback and appreciation of your cooking.
Udaipur specialty that one must try when visiting
Rajasthani thaali is a must try. Non vegetarian lamb sula or lal maas. If vegetarian gatta curry.
What is your favourite food dish?
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with a BBQ rubbed Sirloin steak which I used to grill in Australia for myself.
What do you enjoy besides cooking?
I like music and am a part time DJ of House and electronic music.
